Fish rain from the sky during storm in eastern Texas
Residents of eastern Texas were left amazed when fish reportedly rained down from the sky during a recent thunderstorm. According to witnesses, a heavy downpour began around midday on Wednesday, and within a matter of minutes, they started to notice small fish falling from the sky.
"I was sitting on my porch when I saw something moving out of the corner of my eye," said local resident, John Smith. "When I looked up, I saw these little fish just falling from the sky. At first, I thought I was seeing things, but then I realized it was really happening."
The incident occurred in the town of Jefferson, which is located near the border of Texas and Louisiana. Experts say that while rare, this phenomenon, known as "fish rain," is not unheard of.
"Fish rain occurs when small fish, typically less than two inches in length, are picked up by strong updrafts in thunderstorms and carried high into the atmosphere," said meteorologist, Dr. Jane Doe. "As the storm weakens, the fish can then be carried along by the winds and eventually fall back down to the ground."
While the sight of fish falling from the sky may be unusual, there is no cause for alarm. Experts say that this is a natural occurrence and does not pose any threat to human health or safety.
"The fish that fall from the sky are typically small and pose no harm to humans or property," added Dr. Doe. "In fact, they can even be beneficial as they provide a source of food for animals and help to fertilize the soil."
Despite the unusual nature of the event, many residents of Jefferson saw it as a sign of good luck.
"I've lived here my whole life and I've never seen anything like it," said local resident, Mary Johnson. "But they say that fish rain is a good omen, so maybe it means something good is coming our way."
